Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson comes from a family with a strong musical background. She was raised listening to traditional, old boleros as well as classic romantic songs and the Ranchero style. Ana loves Tangos, opera, and all forms of dramatic performance. She was taught by her mother to sing, however she started intensive training in vocals with Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera singer and tenor. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a young student and professional, she was a part of various chamber groups as well as opera choruses in Guadalajara and Mexico City. In 2000 she moved back to in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007 she moved to her new home in Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist with traditional Latin American music at private occasions. Her passion for singing, music and the arts keep her engaged in local projects in both her capacity as an artist and instructor. Ana is also a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana is thankful for being able to share her love and enthusiasm for the traditional Latin American songs with others and, in the process hopes to inspire a passion, especially among younger generations in order to keep the music alive and alive.Viva Mexico!
