Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. At the age of five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma chose to be an actor at age six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. By the time she turned 10 years old, Emma took part in a variety of Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via her Oxford teacher.
